What if I've never used a film camera?

What's in the kit?

A reusable CATCH camera, 2 rolls of roda 35mm and a corduroy travel bag. £102 bought separately, £71.40 here. One payment, nothing recurring. When you've shot the rolls, send them to us for development or take them to any lab.

What film do you use?

We make our own 35mm films, all on limited runs. This season it's roda, a warm ISO 400 film made for people. It holds up when the light goes - parties, winter weddings, dinner tables, early dark. Flash on and get close and it does the rest. The canister is blank so you can draw your own. You can put any other 35mm film in your CATCH camera.

The one mistake most first rolls make

Shooting indoors or at night with the flash off. Film needs more light than your phone, so slide the flash on anywhere darker than daylight and get close. Beyond that: some shots will be blurry, one or two double-exposed by accident. That's part of it, and we email tips with every roll.

What if my film gets lost in the post?

Happens to about 1 in 1000 rolls. Use a padded envelope or tracked delivery for extra protection.

How fast do I get my photos?

Within 72 hours of receiving your film, so normally 7 days after you send. We don't sit on them - we know you want them and getting them back is the best part. Worth the wait.

Can I get prints?

We don't sell prints directly - you get high-resolution digital scans, easy to share. Some customers print one or two once they have seen the whole lot.

Can I use my own film with the camera?

Yes - any 35mm film works in the CATCH camera, and we can develop them anytime using our digital development service.

Does this work for weddings?

Yes - check our camera + film kits for multiple cameras and films to shoot weddings, parties and any event from every angle.

Is there a warranty on the camera?

Yes - 90 days if the camera is faulty. Email us with your order number and we'll send a replacement.

Do you ship outside the UK?

Not yet - but drop us a message on Instagram @catchcameras if you're really desperate and we'll see what we can do.

How do I load the film?

There's an easy-to-follow guide and it's important to learn. Once you have done it once, it's really easy.

Can I open the back of the camera after loading?

No - this will expose the film to light and ruin your photos. Always make sure the film is fully wound back in before opening. The camera has a small indicator window so you can see if film is loaded.
