Your catch has a wide lens (28mm) so you want to get close to your subject.
Aim for 1-2 metres (or 2 arms lengths), especially if you are taking photos of people.
If it helps, stretch your arm out and shoot, because of the lens width you will still capture what is in front of you.

2

Shoot from a different angle.
Alternate between portrait and landscape.
Take a step closer.
Shoot crouching down or from higher up. Take a step left, a step right.
Play around, have fun rather than shooting front on all the time.

ON

CATCH is best at close up, intimate shots and normally of people so make sure they are lit up appropriately, especially if you are inside.
Unless you are outdoors and have loads of natural light (everything you are shooting is in the sunlight) then we recommend using the flash.
If you aren't sure, play it safe and keep the flash on.

Loading a film can be a bit fiddly if you have never done it before.
Watch the below video to learn how to safely load a film into your CATCH
👇
Make sure...
The film is hooked into the latches at the top (in the middle) and on the right
+
You have wound the film across using the winder and you can now no longer wind - this mean it is ready to shoot

2

Don't open the back of your CATCH once you have loaded a film. It exposes the film to light and damages your photos.
Once the film has been infected with light, there is nothing you can do to save your photos.
Don't be tempted to open the back or let other people open it until you know that the film has been safely wound back in.

Unloading can be exciting because you have finished a roll, created some memories and now you want to see your photos...
But, be careful and make sure you follow the video below
👇
Make sure...
You press the button on the underside of the camera - this dislodges the film from the spool that keeps the film in place
+
You can hear the film unwinding - if you have used the whole roll this will take
10 - 15 seconds of constant winding back

Your CATCH is loaded with an AA battery.
This battery warms up the flash component so that you can take photos with the flash on.
When you turn it off, it needs to cool down so if you try and snap straight away then the flash might go off again.
If the flash stops working, you will need to replace it with a new battery via the underside of the camera.

STUCK?
This usually happens when the film on the inside isn't hooked into the middle latches.
This won't stop your camera from taking photos but may mean the counter isn't correct.
We do not recommend opening the back to check this.
Instead, make sure you load the film correctly next time around.

How do I get my photos back?
The film inside your camera needs to be developed once it has been used. This can be done by us (see CATCH development service) or by lots of places on the high street or elsewhere online - just search 'film development near me'. When you get your photos developed, your photos are sent back to your phone for enjoying, sharing and storing.
Why should I choose CATCH?
We want to get you off your phone and connecting with the people and places around you. As a society, we are so digitally distracted - CATCH is an opportunity to slow down, get creative and take special photos of the moments that really matter to you - holidays, parties and time with your favourite people.
How do I use a point and shoot camera?
This content will be hidden until the user opens the collapsible. You can replace this content with whatever you feel should be hidden.
Can I open the back of the camera after loading the film?
No! Once your film is loaded, do not open the back of your CATCH camera, as this will expose the film to light and damage your photos. Always make sure the film is fully wound back in before opening the back.
happens if I open the back of the camera before the film is finished?
Opening the back of the camera before the film is fully used will expose the film to light, ruining the photos. Always ensure the film has been fully wound back in before opening the back.
What do I do once my film is finished?
Once you’ve used the film (when the counter reads 24 or 36, or the winder stops), simply follow the instructions for developing. You can send the film to us for digital development, or take it to a local film lab. Make sure to finish the film and remove it safely before development.
